eCandidat is the digital application platform used by the University Sorbonne Paris Nord (formerly Paris 13) to manage admissions for certain programs. It does not cover all entry levels: depending on the targeted diploma, the application may fall under Parcoursup, Mon Master, or Études en France. Before proceeding on eCandidat, the first check is therefore on the eligibility of the program for this platform.
Check that the program is indeed under eCandidat Paris 13
The most common confusion is creating an eCandidat file for a program that is not listed. At Sorbonne Paris Nord, first-year bachelor’s degrees go through Parcoursup. First-year master’s degrees fall under Mon Master. Candidates from outside the European Union are sometimes redirected to Études en France.

eCandidat Paris 13 mainly concerns L2, L3, professional bachelor’s degrees, and certain M2 programs. The exact scope varies depending on the components (UFR law, political and social sciences, Galilée Institute, etc.). The homepage of the platform lists the programs open for recruitment, along with their campaign dates.
Before creating an account, it is therefore recommended to consult the university’s website and identify the targeted program. Wanting to submit an application on eCandidat Paris 13 for a diploma managed elsewhere wastes time and may cause deadlines to be missed on the correct platform.

Creating an eCandidat account: former students and new candidates
The account creation procedure differs depending on the candidate’s previous background.
Former student of Sorbonne Paris Nord
Individuals who have previously been enrolled at the university have a student number and ENT credentials. When logging into eCandidat, they authenticate directly via the institution’s CAS portal. The form appears pre-filled with civil status data and the institutional email address.
A point to watch: the contact email address must be active and checked regularly. All notifications (receipt of the file, request for documents, decision from the committee) are sent to this address. Also check the spam folder.
New external candidate
A candidate who has never been enrolled at Sorbonne Paris Nord must create an account from the eCandidat homepage, using the designated tab. The form requests civil status information, date of birth, nationality, and a personal email address.
- After validating the form, a confirmation email containing an activation link is sent. This link has a limited validity period (a few days). After that, the account is deleted, and the process must be restarted.
- The eCandidat file number assigned at creation serves as an identifier for the entire procedure, including during administrative registration if the application is accepted.
- The credentials (file number and password) must be kept: they will be necessary to complete the file, track its processing, and respond to any admission offer.
Preparing the application file on the platform
Once the account is activated and the connection established, the candidate accesses the training offer. Navigation is done by component, then by level and discipline. The candidate selects the desired program and opens an application file.
The file consists of several tabs to be filled out in order. Personal information (previous education, baccalaureate or equivalent, university path) is entered online. Each section must be completed before moving on to the next.
Supporting documents to upload
The list of required documents varies by program. Generally, you will find:
- Transcripts from previous years (scanned in PDF, readable and complete).
- A valid identity document.
- A cover letter and a CV, with the expected format (free or structured) specified in the program sheet.
- If applicable, specific certificates: diplomas obtained, language certification, internship proof.
A poorly scanned or unreadable document may lead to the rejection of the file. The platform generally accepts PDF and image files, with a maximum size per file. Preparing all documents in advance, even before creating the account, helps avoid being stuck the day before the deadline.

Submission, tracking, and deadlines for the eCandidat application
The file is not automatically submitted once the documents are uploaded. The candidate must explicitly validate and submit their application from the interface. As long as this step is not completed, the file remains in “in progress” status and will not be reviewed by the academic committee.
After submission, the status changes to “received” or “complete.” If documents are missing, the platform may display an “incomplete” status, and an email is sent to the candidate. An incomplete file by the closing date is eliminated without review.
The number of simultaneous applications is limited by component. This limit varies from one UFR to another. Applying to multiple programs within the same component consumes as many “places” in this quota. It is better to target the programs that are truly desired rather than multiplying files.
Response from the committee and next steps
The decision (admitted, rejected, waiting list) is notified by email and visible in the candidate’s space. In case of admission, the candidate must confirm their choice within the allotted time, or they risk losing their place. The eCandidat file number is then used to finalize the administrative registration on the dedicated portal of Sorbonne Paris Nord.
A rejection on eCandidat does not close all doors: some programs open additional sessions if places remain vacant after the first wave. Regularly checking the platform after the results allows candidates to spot these late openings.
