A high school senior receives their exam invitation via email, but the parent has no access to the document. On the day of the exam, no one in the family knows what time or where to show up. This scenario happens every year to families who haven’t taken control of the Cyclades platform early enough.

Cyclades from the parent’s perspective: an indirect access that needs to be anticipated

Cyclades is the portal of the Ministry of National Education that manages registrations and exam results, including the baccalaureate. The account is created in the name of the student, not the parent. In practical terms, the parent does not have a personal profile on Cyclades.

To follow the procedure, one must therefore obtain the login credentials from their child or be present during the first login. It’s better to handle this right when the account is created, usually at the beginning of the school year, rather than searching for a lost password the day before the exams.

There are also useful information on Emploi Plus that details how the platform works from the families’ perspective, allowing them to get oriented even before the first login.

Registration calendar for the baccalaureate on Cyclades: dates vary by academy

Many parents assume that there is a single national calendar for registering for the baccalaureate. This is not the case. According to Éduscol, the registration opening periods differ from one academy to another. Registrations for final exams are generally open from October to early November, and for preliminary exams until early December, but these windows fluctuate.

In Île-de-France, it is the SIEC (Inter-academic Service for Exams and Competitions) that manages registrations, not the rectorate. For all other academies, one should contact the division of exams and competitions of the relevant rectorate.

Check the deadlines specific to your academy

Éduscol recommends directly contacting the division of exams and competitions of the rectorate to know the exact dates. This verification is particularly useful in three cases:

  • The child is an individual candidate or a free candidate, without a school managing the registration on their behalf
  • The family has moved and the child is changing academies during the school year
  • The child resides abroad, which involves a specific contact (exam service of the country of residence or affiliated academy)

A missed registration date on Cyclades cannot be easily rectified. No late registration is guaranteed, and appeals are lengthy.

Exam invitations and results: what Cyclades actually displays

Once the registration is validated, Cyclades becomes the space where the student finds their invitation to the exams. This document indicates the exam center, the times, and the relevant subjects. It is downloadable in PDF format, but only from the student’s account.

The reflex to adopt: ask your child to download the invitation as soon as it appears, then print it in duplicate. Checking the exam center and time together avoids unpleasant surprises on the day.

Consulting grades and results

After the exams, the results are published on Cyclades even before being displayed in the centers. It includes the detailed grades by subject, allowing for quick identification of whether the student is admitted, needs to retake exams, or did not obtain the diploma.

For retakes, the timeframe is very short. Having access to the Cyclades account in the hours following the publication allows for preparation of the subjects to retake without waiting until the next morning.

2027 baccalaureate session: anticipating structural changes

According to Éduscol (updated June 17, 2026), the structure of the baccalaureate is evolving starting from the 2027 session. A parent accompanying a first or final year student must check which session is concerned. Applying the rules from a previous year (coefficients, number of exams, calendar) can mislead about the actual weight of each subject.

Cyclades reflects the current session, not past sessions. The information displayed on the student’s account corresponds to the modalities of the year of the exam. If your eldest took the baccalaureate in 2025, the references you had are not necessarily transferable for a younger sibling taking it in 2027.

Exam accommodations and Cyclades file

Requests for accommodations (extra time, secretary, separate room) go through a specific file, but the decision then appears in the student’s Cyclades space. Checking that the granted accommodation is mentioned on the invitation avoids having to justify it on-site on the day of the exam.

  • Submit the accommodation request at the beginning of the school year, not in the last term
  • Keep the acknowledgment of receipt of the medical file sent to the rectorate
  • Check on Cyclades that the mention of the accommodation appears on the final invitation

Response times vary depending on the academies, but submitting the file early remains the best guarantee.

Cyclades is not a complex tool, but it is one that parents often discover too late. Familiarizing oneself with the platform as early as October, obtaining the credentials, checking the dates specific to one’s academy, and verifying the invitation before the exam day covers almost all situations where a parent can truly take action.
